About

studio-summer 2020.jpg

Located in the beautiful town of Skärhamn, on the island of Tjörn, West Sweden, my tiny studio — a small “stuga” — is cozy and has a lot of charm. A place where it really feels good to spend time creating prints, books or soft sculptures! My papermaking workshop is next to it.

As a letterpress studio, L’Imprimeuse has vintage presses and cases of metal and wood type and illustrations are printing blocks, old and new. When the design requires a photopolymer plate, it is made at the studio. The inks are mixed by hand to get the result I’m looking for.

The paper plays a big role in my prints and is a significant part of the creative process. I love experimenting with special papers, especially hand-made paper. My own paper is made of virgin fibers (cotton, flax, hemp and abaca) or recycled leftovers and scraps from my printing studio.

I print each piece one at a time. The manual process and the texture of the paper make them all unique. You won’t have the perfection of a digital print here, but a genuine human touch!
